Don't try so Hard
Just to write about this I went out on Sunday and I tried too hard
I tried to get certain people’s attention, I expected it to be like one of the other Sundays but more people were out and less industry
It threw me off so I said fuck it
I was with my girl and she’s like your trying to hard
I said ya I know I want to get into the mind of people who don’t know a lot of people out or have a hard time socializing
I used to be this way when I was in high school and was a real loser
I got better but am so much more outgoing with people I see often or know really well
So the first spot was my favorite spot and I ran into some people but they were all leaving
The owner I hung out with last time didn’t show up until later
The staff was too busy when they usually have more fun and one was just coming back from a funeral
It was all a bit off and they were tired from the weekend
So when went to this other spot and started playing ping pong
I enjoy the game and lot but very few people can play with me
I grew up laying tennis and my mom played pro so ping pong is like easy tennis
My girl and I start playing and she’s ok but I get bored after a few minutes
But I was having fun and 5 girls came up to us
One wanted to play
My gf said thank God and went and talked with the rest of them
I already knew these girls all had boyfriends and were just having a girls night
The girl I played with was actually really good but could only play her back hand
She still kept up and we chatted after
I could tell she wanted a break from her friends
They had been out all day
The reason this worked was I had a skill and was having fun
Fun being the important part
We went back to the other spot and the owner was just getting there
But I was trying to avoid this girl so I told my girl let’s leave
She tripped a bit on something outside and the owner caught her
We said thanks and we were heading out
Came back and chatted most of the night
Sometimes when you go out you just can’t get into that flow state
It’s because you are trying to hard
People can feel this energy and it’s off putting
The more you want out of something the more you are going to try
People can sense this and they will avoid you because at the end of the day it’s low vibe behavior
It lowers everyone’s status
They wonder what does this person need so much
Social dynamics are always changing
Every night is different
Just because you are off one time doesn’t mean to hang up the coat
Dust yourself off and get back out
Enjoy the ebbs and flows in life
Without them it would be boring af
